The user's goal is not just to progress, but to do so in an effective and efficient manner. I am currently working on a Learning Management System (LMS) for a client. The top level of the system is Certificates, followed by Courses, and then Activities. An activity can be a video, slide, or quiz.
Research has been conducted on work scenarios with managers and employees, consulting “almost 12,000 newspaper entries provided by 238 employees from 7 companies” to reach their conclusions. LMSs provide users with the flexibility to complete courses at their own pace and convenience. It is important to ensure that the knowledge gained is practically applicable in their role as they progress. The difference between technological communication and e-learning lies in the way each discipline approaches the concept of “learning”.
To do this correctly, I need to move from Jekyll, which produces static HTML and is what I use for my course, to a database-based Learning Management System (LMS) (such as WP Courseware or Learndash, or an e-learning platform like Udemy or Udacity). An LMS is a web-based software or technology application used to plan, implement and evaluate a specific learning process. It offers users various benefits regardless of the type of organization that uses it. An effective LMS will provide useful statistics to track the activity and progress of students through graphics or visual representations of data.
Building and adapting your LMS accordingly will create a learning platform that your team will be motivated to invest time in and ensure that your training is well received. Administrators and instructors should be able to create and manage these catalogs and courses to provide a more specific learning experience. Mobile application LMSEs support mobile learning and can be accessed anywhere and at any time via mobile devices. An LMS generally provides an instructor with a way to create and deliver content, monitor student engagement, and evaluate student performance.
Surveys, surveys or interviews will help you discover what works and what needs to be changed, adapted or improved according to the needs of your students. E-learning approaches learning more like a long-term course or training that a user undergoes to increase their knowledge and skills from one level to another.
